There are five passes in the Allier department. The Montagne Bourbonnaise is the highest area in the department. And logically, it's in this mid-mountain zone that the main passes are located. There are four of them.
The Col de la Plantade (870 m) marks the link between Allier and Puy-de-Dôme. In the Allier, it can be climbed from Ferrières-sur-Sichon over a distance of almost 12 kilometers.
Cycle tour N° 8 Au cœur de la Montagne Bourbonnaise takes you over the Col de la Loge des Gardes and the Rivière Noire.
The Col de la Plantade and the Col du Beau Louis require a small detour on the circuit.
