Starting from Cusset, the route gradually climbs up to the village of Chassignol.

A few steps from the ramparts of the ancient fortified town of Cusset, you'll discover a green dog in the middle of a traffic circle. This name was given to the bronze cannons that guarded the town. It has since become the nickname of the people of Cusset.
