Now that the last tower of the ramparts has fallen, now that the Célestins fathers have gone, what's left of old Vichy? From this rock, we can imagine Caesar's legions building bridges across the river, the Prince de Condé's Huguenots stripping naked in the Moûtier baths and burning the 1400 fires of the 17th châtellenie du Bourbonnais. Here was the salt granary, further on, near the chapel, the château, on the Allier, boatmen passed and a marquise slept in the pavilion.
